'Tis the Season for Thanks, for Giving

There is always something to be thankful for.

COVID-19 brought our community its fair share of chaos and crisis. But with any catastrophe, we hope to measure it not only in terms of tragedy and loss, but in how we, as a community, respond to it.

There are necessary things: washing our hands, not touching our faces, wearing our masks, and maintaining social distance. It is these precautions that contribute to the safety and well-being of not only ourselves and the ones we love, but those we may never meet. Then, there are some pretty amazing things. Over the course of the year, we have witnessed the tireless and selfless dedication of our essential workers to ensure the safety, health, and well-being of our collective community and those they directly serve. Mirroring that commitment, we observed the individuals, community partners, and charitable organizations both large and small, who rallied and banded together to become invaluable networks and resources for emergency relief to those severely impacted by this pandemic. In a time of great need, all have made a world of difference for so many, right here in NEPA. The collaboration, dedication, and resourcefulness of this community makes the Human Resources Foundation proud to be a part of it. We are beyond grateful to work alongside these compassionate individuals and organizations and to aid those in need by contributing to these critical emergency relief efforts. If the COVID-19 pandemic has shown us anything, it is that despite the level of adversity, our community has no shortage of resilience and no shortage in strength of character. We chose to face our individual and collective challenges head on. We chose to work together to care and provide for one another when the need was evident. We chose to pivot, shift, and adapt in the face of abrupt change. We chose to help lift one another up - our neighbors, our friends, and our loved ones - so that the weight was not as heavy. We are humbled by what we have seen - humbled by what we continue to see. The Human Resources Foundation strives to make a difference in the lives of those we support and we also strive to be here for our community when they needs us most.
